Terms of service

Last updated October 4, 2026

Plain terms for a simple product: a flat monthly subscription for a review tool that runs on your machine under your own AI accounts.

What you get

A subscription to Tight Code gives you the local review agents and the git hook that runs them, the hosted dashboard with your review history and findings queue, and the Analysis Copilot for asking questions about that history.

It does not include AI usage. The engines run on your own Claude and OpenAI plans or API keys, billed to you by those vendors directly.

The local software runs on macOS only, on Apple Silicon or Intel. Windows and Linux are not supported. Check that before you subscribe, because a subscription bought for a computer it cannot run on is not a fault in the service.

Payment

  • $39 per month per account, plus any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live. Payments are handled by Stripe, which acts as the seller of record through its Link service, so your receipt and card statement will name Link.
  • Cancel whenever you like from the Billing page in the dashboard. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.
  • If a payment fails and is not resolved, dashboard access stops. Your data is kept for six months after that, in case you resolve it.
  • Prices can change, but not for a period you have already paid for, and never without notice first.

What we ask of you

  • Use your own AI accounts, and follow the terms you have with those vendors.
  • One subscription covers one person's accounts. Do not share a login.
  • Each account may connect up to two Macs. To use a different Mac, remove one on the Setup page first.
  • Do not use Tight Code to review code you have no right to review.
  • Do not try to reach another account's data, or to interfere with the service for others.
  • The software, the review prompts it receives from your account, and the way the engines are put together are ours. Do not reverse engineer, decompile, extract, copy, or redistribute them, and do not use them to build a competing product. Your subscription is a licence to use them, not to take them.

What this tool is, and is not

Tight Code is a review tool. It finds real problems and it misses things. No AI reviewer, and no human one, catches every defect, and you should not treat a clean verdict as proof that a change is safe. It is one more set of eyes before a push, not a certification and not a substitute for your own judgment.

The system is deliberately built to fail open: if an engine times out, a vendor has an outage, or anything else goes wrong, your push proceeds rather than being blocked. That is the right trade for a tool that sits in front of every push, and it means a review can silently not happen.

The service is provided as is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Compliance advisors

Some accounts can switch on compliance advisors, which review your changes for code-level gaps mapped to a framework such as HIPAA, SOC 2 or ISO/IEC 27001. They are advice about your code and nothing more:

  • They are not legal advice, and they are not an audit, a certification, an attestation or a compliance assessment. Using them does not make you compliant with any framework.
  • Their findings are AI-generated. They can be wrong, and they will not catch everything. A clean result is not evidence that you meet a requirement.
  • They see your code changes and the setup answers you give them. Policies, training, vendor agreements, physical security and everything else outside your code are beyond what they can check.
  • You alone are responsible for your compliance, for the answers you give them, and for what you ship to your own customers.
  • SOC 2 is a registered mark of the AICPA, and ISO/IEC 27001 is a standard published by ISO and IEC. Tight Code is not affiliated with or endorsed by either.

The first time you switch one on, you are asked to accept these points, and we keep a record of when you did.

Your code and your data

Your code stays yours. We never receive it, as described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. That policy also says how we use account data, including the detail we look at only with your permission.

Ending the arrangement

To cancel, open the Billing page in the dashboard and choose Manage subscription. You can also cancel from your Link account, or write to us. An account that is cancelled or stops paying is not deleted straight away: its data waits for six months after access ends, in case you come back. After six months without access, we delete the account and its data.

We can suspend or end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, including abuse of the service, and we will tell you why. A suspended account cannot sign in or use the service. An account we end may be deleted along with its data, as the privacy policy describes. If we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice and refund any period paid for and not used.

Changes and contact

If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and account holders are told before the change takes effect.
